The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering. The Civil Engineering program is aligned along the areas of Infrastructure Systems and Infrastructure Design. These thrust areas offer specializations in construction engineering and management, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and transportation engineering. A graduate degree in any area of Civil Engineering can be pursued on a part-time or a full-time basis. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has 22 full-time faculty. Currently, approximately 140 students participate in the graduate studies program.

Admission Requirements
The following are guidelines from successful past applicants:

At least a “B” average in relevant undergraduate course work (3.0
out of 4.0 point scale)
•
Strong recommendation letters from 3 references
•
GRE test scores, particularly for consideration for financial aid
•
For international applicants, the minimum total TOEFL score is 580.
