Architecture is the culturally responsible design and production of buildings that are useful, durable, meaningful, inspiring, and responsive to their physical and social contexts. Architecture is an art, a technical craft, and an ethical practice. The professional Master of Architecture program prepares graduates for licensing and a critical engagement with professional practice. The program seeks to promote leadership, collaboration, intellectual depth, flexibility, and teamwork. It aims to elevate professional esteem and multiply career opportunities for graduates. Master of Architecture students organize course work to fit their career objectives in advanced architectural design and selected areas of interest that are related to faculty expertise.
The length of your NAAB accredited professional degree-program is based on your prior academic and professional experience. The program is usually three years for students with a pre-professional degree from another architecture school, and four years in length for those with a degree in a discipline other than architecture. Both programs include an integrated 12-months of co-op work experience in addition to the academic curriculum. University of Cincinnati students typically qualify for advanced standing with admission to the last two years of the program.
