Under extenuating circumstances, students may
petition the Senior Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, through their program
office, for extension of the time limit for attaining their degree prior to expiration.
To apply for an extension, the student must download a
Graduate Petition for Reinstatement and/or Extension Form and submit the completed
form (signed by his or her adviser) to the graduate program director. The
form must include:
- a projected timeline for program completion,
- a reason for the delay,
- signatures of the student’s graduate program director, dean and faculty adviser.
The form is forwarded to the Senior Assistant Dean of the Graduate School who will approve or deny the petition and notify the student in writing.
