Welcome to the Graduate Student Accomplishment Database.
The Graduate School has developed this unique and cutting-edge database to serve and support graduate student needs. Graduate students are able to enter their own accomplishments and are also able to search the accomplishments of others. There are many benefits of entering your information into this database.
Public Recognition
The Database is a publicly searchable clearinghouse of the many and varied academic and creative accomplishments of our graduate students—one of the first of its kind anywhere, to our knowledge. Starting in May of 2008, 2 student accomplishments per month, from the database, will be chosen for feature in both the GradCaster: Graduate School Newsletter and on the Graduate School’s homepage. In addition, each student’s accomplishments submitted throughout this academic year will be published in our 2007-2008 Annual Report’s web version—due for release this summer. The web version of our Annual Report will be sent to faculty, industry leaders, current students, alumni, and others.
Networking
The Database can be used as a networking tool for UC students who are interested in what the other 8000 graduate students on this campus might know about a particular topic. For more info on this, follow this link to see the example.
Career Preparation
In the near future, the Database may be used as a part of your career planning and search in that you may be able to direct potential employers or funders to your
personal accomplishments page on the Database. This function is not yet formally available, but we are hopeful that after we have more
information based on student use of the Database, we will be able to make this a reality.
The Graduate Student Accomplishments Database is a living, breathing work in progress.
If you have any feedback on successes or problems in using the database or on improvements that can be made to it, please
